About MY Photography

About My Photography

I always thought that my brother was the only one in my family with any artistic ability. He was the musician, painter and drawer. I wasn’t very good at any of that. Then I picked up a camera and fell in love. I realized I do not have to use a paintbrush to create art. Since then, my photography has taken on a life of its own. I categorize my work into three main groups: Stock photography, including nature, wildlife, and fine art photos; Wedding photography and Commercial or Product Photography.

STOCK PHOTOGRAPGY

This section of my work is by far my favorite. Nature and Wildlife photography has always been my photographic passion. I was born and raised I Minnesota and always had a very close relationship to nature. I take a lot of pride in my nature and stock photograph; so much so, in fact, that I consider myself somewhat of a purist. My promise to you is that none of my nature photography has been edited in any way. I do not crop in to get closer to my subject; I take the time and confront the challenge of getting closer. I do not edit colors. You see the pictures as my camera saw them. You can take comfort in the fact that all of my photographs were indeed taken with a camera, not created by Photoshop.

Black and White: All of my black and white photography is done traditionally. I shoot it on Black and White film, develop the film by hand and print the photos in the darkroom. I then scan the print to digitize it for web-display. If you are interested in a print of my black-and-white photography I offer you the choice of a print done digitally or one printed traditionally in the darkroom.
